Minoxidil Formula 82M and 82F

Dr. Schreiber is pleased to offer his patients compounded high concentration minoxidil with and without finasteride. This Maryland hair loss treatment works very well to enhance your Baltimore hair transplant procedure. Occasionally, it is recommended as part of a non-surgical regimen as well.

Minoxidil Sulfate is an active metabolite which has been shown in studies to stimulate hair growth. It has been the number one topical therapy for Androgenetic Alopecia (AGA) since receiving FDA clearance in the US in 1988.

Formula 82M contains (5%) Minoxidil and Tretinoin, along with a topical steroid to improve efficacy and reduce irritation, complimented by other proprietary ingredients that improve the formula’s overall effectiveness, stability and usability.

Proposed mechanisms of action for Minoxidil:

Promotes Vasodilatation
Slows Senescence of Keratinocytes
Increases Proliferation of Dermal Papilla Cells in Hair Follicles
Enhances Cell Proliferation

Finasteride is a 5α-reductase inhibitor that works by decreasing the production of Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in tissues in the scalp. It has been approved as a treatment for hair loss in the US since 1997.

Formula 82F contains (5%) Minoxidil and (.25%) Finasteride along with a topical steroid to improve efficacy and reduce irritation, complimented by other proprietary ingredients that improve the formula’s overall effectiveness, stability and usability.
